![]() Right fielder and heroine in Canada’s victory over Australia (3-2), Caitlin Lever, said that in a World Championship “teams must learn to pick themselves up pretty fast after a bad day and come out strong the next.”
The Canadian player spoke in a press conference on Thursday about the team spirit to celebrate on the second day of playoffs of this international tournament.
“I was driven by the momentum. I knew I had to do my job and luckily, I was able to do it.”
Interestingly, star pitcher Danielle Lawrie started against Australia, and although United States.
“The coaches met for a long time to reach this decision, but we don’t know if it was planned,” explained Lever.
The decision, however was confirmed by Coach Mark Smith, who explained: “The United States is one of the most difficult teams we have to face. That is why today (Thursday) we used Danielle with a fresh arm.”
Canada now will play against China, which defeated Venezuela (6-1) earlier today. “Later on, we will meet to decide what the strategy is for tonight,” he concluded. |
