Team USA made its way to the great final match of the 12th Women’s World Softball Championship after beating Team Japan 4-0. Cat Osterman had a great match today. She struck 12 out and she only allowed 1 hit in 7 innings. The match was played at La Independencia Stadium. In the first inning the Americans started to exert their strength with the bat. Centerfielder Catlin Lowe came up with a hit, later on Jess Mendoza was given a base on balls. The bases were loaded after a hit to the right field by Alisa Haber. The Americans profited from the lead on the score to further strengthen the pitches of the pitching star, Cat Osterman. The only menace she faced was on the first inning after a pass ball of the catcher. She then came back in style by striking three out. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lauren Lappin scored the last run after hitting a double. Jess Mendoza brought her to the plate with a hit.In this fashion, the current world champions ratify their supremacy after defeating Team Japan. The Japanese team was undefeated since the beginning of the tournament. The world championship will come to an end on Friday afternoon with two matches at 4:00pm and 6:00 . |
